Changing the way businesses file taxes

The internal revenue service is eliminating coupons as a way of making tax payments. Coupons will not be accepted at Citizens Independent Bank after December 31, 2010. Taxpayers will receive an EFTPS (Electronic Federal Tax Payment System) Personal Identification Number and a letter stating the intent to end the coupon process from the IRS. Ultimately the IRS will be communicating this change and it is the business or individual’s responsibility to initiate tax payment instructions. Please consult with your tax professional or the IRS with any questions.
