Description/Responsibilities

Citizens Independent Bank has an opening for a VP Commercial Real Estate Specialist at our St Louis Park location. This position is responsible for establishing new banking relationships with corporations, partnerships, and individuals doing business, not-for-profit organizations, and associations. This individual must have complete knowledge of all commercial products and services including credit products, deposit/investment products, cash management, other commercial services, and the bank fee schedule. This individual is responsible for assigned floor duty to service walk-in customers, but also spends a significant amount of time out of the bank in the offices of existing clients, servicing existing business, developing new business, calling on prospective clients, and networking in various ways in the community. Additional duties include: ordering and reviewing all commercial real estate appraisals; working and communicating with lending staff, title companies, attorney and real estate agents on commercial real estate transactions; review and prepare closing documents, commitment letters and other closing documents necessary for commercial real estate transactions; and oversees the servicing and administration of the Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Participants.

  • Must match the product and service with the customer/prospect's identified needs and must carefully evaluate the amount of risk involved in entering into a relationship.
  • Understand the business/industry the customer is in and must gain a thorough knowledge of the customer/enterprise history and future plans.
  • Must be able to write in narrative format about the business summarizing financial capacity and ability to repay loan request.
  • Administer all loans within legal and regulatory requirements, the bank's loan policy, and stipulations established by the Officers Loan Committee and Directors Credit Committee.
  • Position includes lending authority.
  • Develop new commercial banking relationships.
  • Maintain high level of quality in loan portfolio as measured by delinquencies, classified loans, losses, and technical exceptions.
  • Cross-sell business products and services.
  • Generate fee income.
  • Represent bank in a professional manner at community organizations and activities.
  • Monitor Business overdrafts.
  • Assist in providing adequate floor coverage during banking hours, and in opening and closing the bank.
  • Serve on the Officer Loan Committee as a voting member within 90 days of initial date of employment.
  • Make referrals to the consumer department for bank products and services.
Experience/Skills
  • Bachelors degree from a four year college or university, 5-10 years related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous banking experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, narratives, annual reviews, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Citizens Independent Bank has an opening for a Special Assets Officer at our St. Louis Park location. Under the administration of the Chief Credit Officer, this position is responsible for Special Asset Administration and assists with credit related policies. In this capacity, the incumbent will prepare and present reports to the Board of Directors as necessary. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops, plans and implements practices and procedures to minimize non-performing assets, criticized/classified assets and loan charge offs from adversely-graded loans (Special Assets) and to return such assets to performing status. Coordinates foreclosure/ replevin efforts as necessary for optimal collection on accounts.
  • Works closely with relationship managers and senior management of the bank to gain optimum repayment terms and conditions, collateral coverage, monitoring, recourse positions and covenant terms for existing or modified “special asset” loans.
  • Develops and implements strategies to recover principal from borrowers whose loans have been charged off.
  • Oversees OREO/ OPPO booking, sale and recovery to maximize bank’s position.
  • Works with Finance department to ensure proper booking of assets, accrual issues and payments.
  • Prepares monthly/ quarterly reports to senior management and/or Board of Directors as directed.
  • Assists in developing training of business bankers and credit administration staff as requested by the Chief Credit Officer.
  • Provides industry specific analysis and recommends controls, limits, procedures or policies necessary to protect the bank in the risk categories identified.
  • Assists on updating, reviewing and presentation to the Board of Directors of credit related policies and procedures.
  • Attends Directors Loan Committee meetings and provides appropriate risk assessments and other comments as needed.
  • Monitors the bank’s watch list of criticized and classified assets.
  • Works with relationship managers to complete ongoing reporting of Problem Loan Reports for all criticized and classified assets.
  • Conducts periodic, formal problem loan reviews.
  • Facilitates and monitors attorney relationships as it pertains to credit/workout/collection efforts.
  • Provides senior management reporting as requested to help in assessing bank/ lender performance in asset quality measures.
  • Participates in special projects for the department as assigned.
  • Supervises the Loan Review Specialist.
  • Oversees the evaluations, hiring, staff development and other functions and resources dealing with the activities of subordinate position supervised.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience in skills, knowledge and abilities.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in credit, business lending, bank examinations or related areas.

Citizens Independent Bank has an opening for an Information Technologies Director at our St. Louis Park location. This position is responsible for management and oversight of all technical services including enterprise network operations and security, server build-out and maintenance, data center management, VOIP support, enterprise security, IT policies and procedures, assists and advises others in the creation, development, implementation, and evaluation of CIB products, manages User Support functions, including desktop workstation support and Help Desk. The IT Director works closely with two direct reports in providing leadership and direction, with all other employees in responding to questions and problem resolution, interfaces with the CFO for fulfillment of functions and responsibilities.

  • Participates in department planning an implementation of technical infrastructure and help desk functions.
  • Oversees all IT Technology infrastructure functions and systems. This includes, but is not limited to, hardware architecture, capacity management, system security, systems integration, computer operations, hardware and network operations, telecommunications, system documentation, user support, policy and procedure development, technical standards, schedules and project management.
  • Analyzes the Information Technology (IT) needs of the company, recommends technical solutions, establishes budgetary and performance controls.
  • Plans, organizes and directs the day-to-day information technology resource activities. Designs and implements information technology architecture strategies to accommodate current and future organizational needs. Ensures confidentiality and reliability of corporate data, proprietary informational and intellectual property.
  • Ensures that all infrastructure projects are appropriately staffed and managed.
  • Provides leadership to the organization, dealing with all technical infrastructures, including enterprise network, security, hardware environments and monitoring of system availability. Also oversees help desk functions involving customer incident management and problem management. Responsible for acquisition of capital equipment, including server hardware, PC’s, network hardware, and data center.
  • Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery of services through specifically defined service level agreement (SLAs) from the company’s vendors.
  • Develops and maintains strategic and tactical direction of company technology in line with enterprise architectural strategy.
  • Information security policy development and maintenance; design of security policy education, training and awareness activities’ and monitors compliance against industry standards.
  • Leads and directs the work of the IT department.
  • Participates in budgeting process and ensures that technical services costs are managed effectively in accordance with established IT annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Participates in relationship building with business partners, ensuring workload prioritization and completion timeframes.
  • Guides development, implementation and maintenance of IT policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the development, implementations and maintenance of enterprise network standards and architecture covering wide area network communication and local area network standards within offices.
  • Oversees Disaster Recovery plans and DR exercises.
  • Oversees daily data backup and restore procedures.
  • Oversees the acquisition, implantation and operation of information technology and communication systems including server hardware, workstations, printers, network equipment, wan and phone circuits.
  • Participates in strategic IT planning, annual IT budgeting process and enterprise network architecture review processes.
  • Directs and oversees IT staff including recruitment, development, motivation and retention of staff.
  • Complies with all Bank and Security policies.

Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Business and/or MIS with specialization in these areas.
  • 5+ years experience leading network support and technical infrastructure support operations.
  • Must have experience with enterprise network operations and support of development projects.
  • Must possess a broad understanding of banking as it relates to systems and applications integration in operations, finance and lending.
  • Must have a solid understanding of cost accounting, finance and project skills.
  • Must have in-depth knowledge and experience with the IBM iSeries, PC's, Ethernet, networking.
  • In addition to excellent analytical, communications and administrative skills, the incumbent must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills for leading and managing the most complex projects.
  • Must be able to travel to multiple locations as required, work necessary hours to successfully perform the job responsibilities, respond to system support issues during evenings and weekends as necessary to keep business applications and network operations running smoothly and must be capable of working at a computer for several hours at a time.

Citizens Independent Bank has an opening for a full-time Teller - one at our Hopkins location and one at our St Louis Park location. This position is responsible for serving the customers and officers of Citizens Independent Bank in their daily banking transactions. This individual handles all phases of the Teller operations, which include time and demand deposits, and a broad range of related functions. This job involves considerable customer contact. The employee will be expected to exercise some independent judgment under moderate supervision. The Teller is responsible for providing Citizens Independents Bank's products and services in a professional atmosphere while working efficiently and courteously. They must be aware and watchful for opportunities to sell additional products and services, and referring prospects to the Personal and Commercial Bankers. The incumbent must be constantly diligent in safeguarding bank assets and handling only valid, legitimate transactions.

  • Process paying and receiving functions
  • Accept loan payments
  • Issue Cashier's Checks, Money Orders and Certified Checks
  • Balance Money Orders at end of day
  • Process coin orders and coin charges
  • Answer phone calls promptly and in a friendly, professional manner
  • Greet bank customers immediately upon entering the lobby and assist them or direct them to the proper department

Experience
  • Requires speed, accuracy, and an ability to identify sales opportunities.
